SAFEGUARDING DEMOCRACY IN CALIFORNIA
The California Election Integrity Initiative, founded in 2025 by Shiloh Marx, exists to safeguard democracy by ensuring every vote in California is counted fairly, lawfully, and without compromise.
At the heart of our mission is the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA), a vital law requiring accurate, up-to-date voter rolls. We use it as a tool to hold officials accountable and protect every citizen’s vote from being diluted or undermined.
Through meticulous voter list maintenance, we expose and correct hidden vulnerabilities — duplicate registrations, outdated addresses, and even the names of the deceased lingering on the rolls. Left unchecked, these errors erode public trust and open the door to abuse.
By addressing these problems directly, we restore trust, accuracy, and transparency to California’s elections, affirming a simple but essential principle: elections must reflect the true will of the people — no more, no less.

ABOUT US
The California Election Integrity Initiative (CEII) was founded in 2025 by Shiloh Marx, a committed advocate for transparency and accountability in the democratic process. CEII exists for a simple yet vital purpose: to protect the integrity of every vote cast in California.
We operate under the belief that democracy is strongest when elections are conducted with fairness, accuracy, and trust. Unfortunately, errors in voter registration rolls — from duplicate entries to outdated records — threaten that trust. CEII was created to confront these challenges head-on.
By leveraging the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA), we work to ensure that state and local officials maintain accurate, up-to-date voter lists. This means not only correcting discrepancies but also holding election systems accountable to the law.
Our approach is proactive and transparent:
-
Audit voter rolls to identify and correct errors.
-
Educate citizens on their rights and the importance of clean voter lists.
-
Advocate for integrity in how elections are prepared and managed.
At CEII, we believe that safeguarding voter rolls is not a partisan issue — it is the foundation of a functioning democracy. By protecting the process, we protect the voice of every Californian.

THE PROBLEM
Democracy is only as strong as the integrity of its elections. When voter rolls are inaccurate, outdated, or poorly maintained, the very foundation of trust begins to crumble. In California, thousands of discrepancies have been uncovered — errors that may seem small on paper but carry enormous consequences in practice.
Every duplicate name, every outdated address, every ineligible registration chips away at public confidence. These aren’t just clerical oversights; they are vulnerabilities that open the door to mistakes, disputes, and even abuse. And when citizens begin to doubt whether elections are fair, participation declines — leaving our democracy weaker and our voices diminished.
That is why confronting these problems is not optional — it is essential.
The Four Core Issues
-
Duplicate Registrations: Voters registered more than once, sometimes across different counties, creating confusion and opportunities for error.
-
Deceased Voters on the Rolls: Names of individuals who have passed away remain active, leaving the system vulnerable to misuse.
-
Outdated Addresses: Citizens who have moved are still registered at old addresses, leading to mismatched records and ballots sent to the wrong locations.
-
Ineligible Registrants: Non-citizens or otherwise ineligible individuals mistakenly added to the rolls, threatening the fairness of elections.
THE SOLUTION
Every problem has a solution — but only if we act. The California Election Integrity Initiative was created to confront these vulnerabilities head-on and restore trust in the democratic process. Our approach is not about politics or partisanship — it is about accountability, transparency, and the law.
By enforcing the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) and demanding thorough voter list maintenance, we ensure that every eligible voter is counted once — and only once. This means identifying errors, correcting records, and holding officials responsible for keeping voter rolls clean and accurate.
Our work is built on three pillars: lawful enforcement, public education, and proactive transparency. Together, they form a framework for rebuilding confidence in California’s elections and protecting the voice of every citizen.
Our Four Core Commitments
-
Enforce NVRA Standards: Uphold the law to ensure voter rolls are accurate, updated, and free of discrepancies.
-
Audit & Correct Errors: Conduct regular audits of voter lists to identify duplicates, outdated records, or ineligible entries — and demand correction.
-
Educate & Empower Citizens: Provide Californians with knowledge about their voting rights, the NVRA, and the importance of clean voter rolls.
-
Restore Trust in Elections: By ensuring accuracy and transparency, we strengthen public confidence and safeguard the democratic process for future generations.

WHY IT MATTERS
Free and fair elections are the foundation of democracy. Yet when voter rolls are inaccurate, outdated, or poorly maintained, the consequences are profound:
-
Erosion of Public Trust: Even small errors feed public skepticism, making voters question the legitimacy of election outcomes.
-
Risk of Fraud & Abuse: Duplicate or outdated registrations create openings for mistakes, manipulation, or unlawful voting.
-
Disenfranchisement: Errors can cause eligible voters to be overlooked or denied their rightful ballot.
-
Weakened Participation: When citizens lose confidence in the system, they stop showing up — and democracy suffers.
This is why election integrity is not a partisan issue; it is a democratic issue. Ensuring clean and accurate voter rolls means every Californian can trust that their voice is heard, their vote is counted, and the outcome truly reflects the will of the people.
At the California Election Integrity Initiative, we believe that protecting voter rolls is protecting democracy itself.
